You can view current availability and book accommodation for Les Paroules via AirBnB (see Availability above). You can also contact us directly to discuss your bookings, enquiries, special requirements etc. For instance, we are happy to negotiate special out-of-peak-season ‘retreat’ rates for individuals or couples who might need a quiet, well-equipped environment to write, paint etc.

Each building is a carefully-renovated, self-contained dwelling and can be rented individually, although we normally limit rental to no more than two parties at one time to ensure private space. It is also possible to rent the entire complex of Les Paroules properties: La Maison, the large 18th C. stone house with huge living room and kitchen (able to cater for 15-20 people); Le Gîte, the Perigourdine smaller stone house; Le Sechoir, the converted wooden drying shed. The houses share an enclosed garden, meadow and swimming pool. The entire complex would be suitable for quiet groups and extended families.

Changeover days are flexible provided they do not create short rental gaps (less than 1 week). Rates include linen, electricity, water, gas, firewood, telephone (unlimited free international calls to landlines in most countries) and unlimited wireless broadband internet. Underfloor central heating in the main house (normally only needed in winter) is charged at cost. We offer a discount of 10% for rental of the whole property and up to 30% on individual buildings for longer stays up to 3 months. There is an at-cost changeover charge from our cleaners (€200 Main House, €100 Gîte, €100 Sechoir). Minimum stay 7 days (10 days in high season).

Payment Methods

We have a UK bank account (in £), Australian bank accounts (in A$), and French or Dutch bank accounts (in euros) allowing direct transfers. We can also accept payment using Paypal credit or payment by credit card (small surcharge). We ask for a security deposit (€500; $1000 when booking entire complex) at time of reservation (refundable on cancellation if we can rebook), with the balance fully payable one month before arrival.

What is Provided

We provide all bed linen and towels. Cleaning materials and basic supplies (salt, sugar etc.) are generously provisioned at the start of each season and we ask renters to ensure that they are replenished upon departure — most people are good about this. The kitchens are well equipped with good quality pots and pans and a generous supply of tableware. There is a large front-loader washing machine in the main house and a medium size front-loader and a drier in the shared laundry, where you will also find a small electric and large gas BBQ. We can provide a high-chair and two cots if required, but we ask that you bring childs’ bedding. There is good Wi-FI coverage in every house (there are four separate access points) and a shared phone system with wireless phones and unlimited free calls to landlines in most countries. There’s a small stock of books, English language DVDs and music CDs, but we recommend you to bring your own. The Sechoir and the Gite have a radio-CD player, while the Main House has a Hi-Fi system and large plasma TV (Samsung 3D, BYO glasses) with Apple TV, DVD player and internet connectivity (unlimited, but you will need a few hours to download a HD film).

Winter Occupancy

The main house (La Maison) has underfloor central heating throughout the downstairs with electric wall heaters in the bedrooms, an open fireplace next to the kitchen and a glass-fronted wood burning stove in the barn section (living room). The Sechoir has a reverse cycle air conditioner to cool or heat the living room together with portable electric convectors for the bedrooms. The Gîte has a glass-fronted fireplace (‘insert’) which can be used as an open fire, and electric wall heaters in the bedrooms. The Gîte is not suitable for winter occupancy except as providing additional bedrooms, as the living room fire does not adequately heat the living area.
